作者简介：威廉•莎士比亚（William Shakespeare，1564—1616），英国文艺复兴时期伟大的剧作家、诗人，欧洲文艺复兴时期人文主义文学的集大成者，全世界最卓越的文学家之一。英国戏剧家本•琼森称他为“时代的灵魂”，马克思称他和古希腊的埃斯库罗斯为“人类最伟大的戏剧天才”。他流传下来的作品包括约38 部剧本、154 首十四行诗、两首长叙事诗和其他诗作。他的剧本被翻译成所有主要语言，并且表演次数远远超过其他剧作家。直至今日，他的作品依然广受欢迎。译者简介：朱生豪（1912—1944），著名的莎士比亚戏剧翻译家、诗人。浙江嘉兴人，毕业于杭州之江大学中国文学系和英文系，曾在上海世界书局任英文编辑。他是中国翻译莎士比亚作品较早和最多的一人，共译莎士比亚悲剧、喜剧、杂剧与历史剧31 部半，其译文质量和风格卓具特色，颇受好评，为国内外莎士比亚研究者所公认。
