作者简介乔治•威廉•弗里德里希•黑格尔（Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel，1770年8月27日—1831年11月14日），德国哲学家。1788年进入图宾根神学院学习。1793年毕业后，先后在伯尔尼和法兰克福当了七年的家庭教师。1800年到耶拿，与谢林共同创办《哲学评论》杂志。次年成为耶拿大学编外讲师，四年之后成为副教授。1807年出版他的第一部著作《精神现象学》。1808至1816年，他在纽伦堡当了八年的中学校长。在此期间完成了《逻辑学》（简称大逻辑）。1816年，他被聘为海德堡大学教授。1817年，出版《哲学全书》（其中的逻辑学部分简称小逻辑），完成了他的哲学体系。1818年开始担任柏林大学教授，1821年出版《法哲学原理》。1829年，黑格尔被任命为柏林大学校长和政府代表，1831年死于霍乱。他在柏林大学的讲稿死后被整理为《哲学史讲演录》、《美学讲演录》和《宗教哲学讲演录》。译者简介贺麟(1902-1992)、字自昭，四川金堂人。中国现代哲学家、翻译家，现代新儒家的早期代表人物之一。 1919年考入清华学堂，1926年赴美国留学，先在奥柏林大学获学士学位，后又入哈佛大学获硕士学位。1930年转赴德国柏林大学专攻德国古典哲学。回国后长期任教于北京大学哲学系，并在清华大学兼课。贺麟对西方哲学有很深的造诣，对黑格尔、斯宾诺莎、怀特海等西方近现代哲学家都有深入的研究。黑格尔的《小逻辑》、《精神现象学》、《哲学史讲演录》，斯宾诺莎的《伦理学》等译本，都出自其手。主要著作有：《近代唯心主义简释》《文化与人生》、《当代中国哲学》、《现代西方哲学讲演集》等。
